Just found time to read your wonderful blog. I love the way you write and look forward to visiting it again in the future. Thanks too for the insightful anecdotes about Mr. Sinatra, among others, and for sharing a singer's appreciation for what Doris does. Your observations helped someone who has listened to her recordings countless times find new things to savor.

Thanks, Michael, that's very kind. I'm thinking about writing something more substantial on DD and perhaps Sinatra and a couple others. The one thing I want to avoid is coming across as snotty, a la Will Friedwald, so I won't be commenting on the quality of the tunes they waxed, just the technique and resulting sound. Your input is welcome, as is that of any other who'd like to comment on the idea.

Looking forward to reading your blog updates. I don't think you have anything to be concerned about in terms of your writing style. It's fresh, honest an anything but snotty.
