The Love Album

Unread post by Johnny » 24 Jul 2015, 15:46

The Love Album was Doris' last album session after she left Columbia records. It was recorded in 1967 and forgotten about until it was released in the U.K. in 1994.

This is a first class recording with Doris never sounding better singing songs full of reflection, wonder and empathy. Doris' recording of If I Had My Life To Live Over is so intimate , heartfelt and tender. I love A Faded Summer Love and Both Sides Now that are so moving .

Doris' work on the Elvis song, Are You Lonesome Tonight? makes it all her own.

The Love Album was released in the United States in 2004, What an extraordinary gift for us!
