The Doris Day - The Girl Next Door compilation album contains 29 songs was released in 1997. It is 70 joyful minutes of ballads, blues and some well known songs from Doris' films.

The track listing:
Que Sera Sera
Love Me Or Leave Me
Fine And Dandy
Don't Worry 'Bout Me
Everybody Loves My Baby
Sentimental Journey
At Sundown
Somebody Loves Me
Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone
Lullaby Of Broadway
You Made Me Love You
Just One Of Those Things
Mean To Me
My Blue Heaven
It's Magic
Blue Skies
Secret Love
By The Light Of The Silvery Moon
On Moonlight Bay
Never Look Back
I'll Never Stop Loving You
I Can't Give You Anything But Love
Julie
I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)
Tea For Two
I Want To Be Happy
Oh Me! Oh My!
You My Love
I've Gotta Sing Away These Blues

The interesting experience in listening to Doris Day songs on different compilation albums is the fact there is a different emotional journey and different memories.

On this album the songs At Sundown, Never Look Back and You My Love stood out due to their being less familiar.

I Want To Be Happy is a particular favourite of mine.

I like your album compilation postings, Johnny.

Chilton Price, who wrote "Never Look Back," was very complimentary about the way Doris delivered that song. It's always been one of my favorites. Columbia had Andy Williams record it a few years later, but his rendition wasn't nearly as good. In my view, nobody could top DD as a torch singer.

Hi all,

A long, long time ago this was my first Doris Day album I've bought... Doris was introduced to me while watching: The Man Who Knew Too Much on television with my parents... My dad told me that Doris was a very good singer... this was years before internet so the next time I visit the city with a cd shop I found this album... Fell in love with the cover in the shop, and fell in love with her music at home. And my love is still here!!!
