Has anyone on the Doris Day Forum heard the Doris Day: Her Life In Music 1940 - 1966 album?
The 3 CD set includes 60 songs that focus on three parts of her music career - Movie Hits, Golden Greats and Classic Collaborations.

Johnny, this CD set (which I believe was originally released in the UK to celebrate DD's 80th birthday) is really a good mix of genres. It proves what an extremely versatile singer she is -- swing, blues, pop, Latin, jazz, torch, and even country and soft rock. I don't know of any DD contemporary whose catalogue was so diverse and who has earned such critical and commercial acclaim in each of those genres. In the succeeding generation, maybe Linda Ronstadt came close.

Thank you Musiclover. Your background information is always a joy to read.
I checked Amazon to see if the cd is available and put it on my wish list. Amazon states it is "out of stock".
I always find a few wonderful surprises on Doris Day compilation discs. Each one creates a different feeling.
I am thinking Ella Fitzgerald has a large body of recordings with good versatility.

Hi Johnny,
You could try EBAY, most rare stuff I bought from there. And a lot is new/sealed.
