Johnny, thanks for this nice topic. My favorites:

Winter Wonderland
Christmas Waltz
I'll Be Home for Christmas
Christmas Song
Silver Bells

(The latter was being played on the supermarket's loudspeaker earlier this week. Have always loved this one by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, who also wrote -- among many others -- Que Sera, Sera.)

This Christmas I wanted to give the gift of music. As I was listening to my Doris Day Christmas album, I heard Doris singing Let No Walls Divide.

Immediately I was inspired to go to You Tube and share Doris singing Let No Walls Divide with my family and friends. I received many responses saying that they had not heard this song before. They also described the song as important for this time and spiritually inspiring.

The music is by Martin Briones and the lyrics by William A. Luce. It was recorded on May 3 - 1961.
It was arranged and conducted by Jim Harbert for the album We Wish You The Merriest.

Here is Let No Walls Divide:

Let no walls divide your world
Pull them down today
Take the stranger by the hand
Lead him on his way

If he stumbles, help him rise
Calm his foolish pride
Give him kindness, give him love
Let no Walls divide

Let no Walls divide your world
Let no Walls divide your world

Let each day be Christmas Day
As you go through life
Love your neighbor as yourself
Let there be no strife

Love can overflow the heart
Like a rising tide
Peace on Earth, goodwill to men
Let no Walls divide

Peace on earth, goodwill to men
Let no Walls divide

Thanks for posting the lyrics, Johnny. Martin Broones wrote or co-wrote several other songs Doris recorded, including The Prodigal Son, The Everlasting Arms, David's Psalm, and Be a Child at Christmas. When she was a devout Christian Scientist, he was her practitioner. (I read once that he was the first musical director at MGM in the late 1920s, but have been unable to confirm that from another source.)

Many artists have recorded Christmas albums over the years but few of them were as effective as Doris. Her version of Silver Bells, as just one example, is perfection. She makes you see all of those city sidewalks bustling with holiday shoppers going from store to store. Her singing is so expressive that it evokes visual images of the lyrics.

Here are my Top Five:

Silver Bells
Silent Night
The Christmas Waltz
I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm
Let No Walls Divide (boy, is that song timely)

Michael, you're so right about "Let No Walls Divide" being timely. Can't remember when there has been such division in our country (USA).
When Reagan helped to bring down the wall in Germany, I wrote Doris and suggested that she get Columbia Records to release the song everywhere. It's a great, meaningful song, and I thought at the time, it would resonate with good folks around the world. Never heard back from her. Same thing with Terry - sent a copy to him, but I guess, it just wasn't meant to be.
Like Irene Dunne done.
