No, that's it. They cut to James Cagney and then to a commercial. No more of Doris. With her stage fright it must have took all she had to get up there in the first place.

That was wonderful, Laurie. Like a shot of heroin to a junkie! :D Doris was such a great 'public speaker'. It was so touching - I wish we could have seen Jimmy Cargney's face - I bet he had a tear in his eye as Doris was being so honestly loving.

Thank you, Laurie!

Oh my God Laurie.... I have goose bumps! You have no idea how many years I have wanted to see this and it has been worth the wait!

I adored Doris' heartfelt and sincere speech and didn't she look superb? That bra-less look again! Boy, she is a class act, and the simplicity of her dress and that figure, wow! Interesting too she was wearing a similar colour to the dress from the film clip - wonder if that was planned?

Anyhow, I am rambling, thanks again, so much for posting this.

Your welcome. She does look great in that dress. It was so Doris. No one else had pastel on or could carry off that body hugging jersey material.

Now if I could just find her Tonight show appearances, I will have my collection complete. :D

Not a look I would recommend for everybody. :D However, she truly could carry off that sexy look.

I have to echo all of the thank-you's to Laurie for posting this fabulous clip. I had not seen this since the first time it was broadcast. Doris did quite well here. Even if she is not fond of public speaking, she handled herself with tremendous confidence and composure. Not a word of what she said felt scripted or rehearsed: it came straight from her heart and you could tell her words really touched Jimmy.

What a terrific acting team those two were. I often think that maybe she had better chemistry with him than Rock or Jimmy Garner.

This really put a smile on my face. Thanks again.
