Wonderful sincere book form start to finish, very informative and enjoyable about a great man and Lady. You can feel the fantastic telling of his encounter with Doris singing with the band and transforms you to that special time and brings you to the present.

This is a must read book and very well written. You will come away with a greater knowledge of this wonderful lady and especially all of her music and her movies. I think Mike knows more about Doris music than even Doris. He knows about every song that she has ever recorded and the year it was recorded and how it rated on the charts. Mike takes you back through the years when he first met Doris as a young boy of eight, when Doris was singing with Les Brown's band and what happen that wonderful night when he first got to meet her and how that started his life long love affair with this beautiful lady "Doris Day". And it is still on going to this day.
As you get into this book you not only learn a lot about Doris but feel you really become to know the man Mike DeVita also. Mike will take you on a beautiful journey and you feel his deep love and respect for this wonderful lady with every page you turn.
Thank you Mike I enjoyed it very much
PS. Don't forget also a large portion of the sales of this book will go to Doris Day Animal Foundation

Mike's book is excellent. He not only tells about his own life but how it intertwines with Doris'.
From Mike's years as a teacher who loved his students dearly and loved to teach but also enjoyed the theatre and broadway plays with his students. All through his book he keeps us up-to-date with his life through his life as a child growing up with family, going to school, college and teaching..then going back to get other degrees. Doris Day has definitely made a huge impact on him all his life.
This book is so well written and stays in chronilogical order to the end. Thanks MIke for giving us a wonderful book on your life as well as your dedication and devotion to our beautiful Doris.

Indeed, very easy reading, you get a laid back feeling reading this book, knowing so much devotion and warmth exists in this sometimes fussy world. It is a haven of heartfelt thoughts, especially because Mike has stayed in contact with Doris for over 6 decades. You easily picture him at the age of 8,seeing this warmhearted, sweet young woman perform on stages and the developments of both their lives. And the thought that Doris is doing so well at 88,living happily at Carmel, makes it all the more poetic, thinking of the time it all started,so long ago and still is at the present.Reading this book means that Mike's secret love for our Doris is no secret anymore...
As we journey under our individual umbrella's,we should not forget we all share the same sky.Doris Day
