I'll see if this works. I've been trying for a long time to post some pictures of my babies. This is Sylvia, my new little chinchilla that I have at the zoo. She will be an outreach animal, she'll go to schools, classes, camps, nursing homes, and birthday parties. Right now, I have to get her calmed down so nothing upsets her.

Wow, Barb

Do you think you could bring the little chinchilla to my classroom? Just kidding, I teach teenagers and I don't think anything can calm them down. They would probably terrorize your cute little chinchilla. I think what you do is great.

Oh she's cute. Doris would be so proud of you Barb.
Laurie, are you a school teacher? I just retired last month, I worked for the school system for 25 yrs. I am so happy to just relax and not be so stressed anymore. I worked in the office as the registrar/attendance for about 425 kids (elem.)

Laurie,
We have taken zoomobiles to the pan handle of Texas. I'm not the usual person who comes, but if you are in our service area, I'll see if I can't make special arrangements to come with Sylvia and some others.

Wow, are you kidding me? Barb, are you at the OKC zoo? I go there about twice a year. I teach school at Highland Park, which is next to Amarillo. You guys probably wouldn't travel that far, but let me know. Our kids don't get to see much around here.

Carol, I am jealous. I am already starting to stress about school. I have about ten more years to go. Won't have much time to devote to Doris once school starts in August, but at least she helps keep the stress level down. I listen to a lot of her music in my class room, I teach art. Kids complain at first, but then they settled down and start to enjoy it. The ones who don't, know better then to complain. :D

I just wanted to tell everyone that Sylvia went to her first class today. It was a camp of 6 & 7 year olds. Sylvia did very good. I slipped across the hall to watch. She went to the zoo teacher right off, and sat quietly in her hands while 20 little kids touched her. She was getting a little nervous at the end, but quieted right down when she was handed back to me. She got extra treats of sunflower seeds when we got back to the animal room. I'm so proud of my baby.

That picture from Pam reminded me of this photo, which I've always loved.

Or it could be called "Who's Got the Biggest Mouth?"! That is excellent as well, John. but I think Pam's has the edge - especially because of the colour (I'm always thinking you must think I can't spell when I put a u in it but that's how we spell it).

Pam sent me some amazing photos of a family out for a walk in the countryside (not sure if it is Pam's family or not) who encounters a young deer that just interacts with them like a family pet. Pam could you share those with people on here?

Brilliant bird photos, Pam. Which lenses do you use?
I've don't have the patience to do birds, I admire your talent.

I do dogs and cats and other wild-life when I get the chance.

Sorry John, but I like Pam's picture better too!

Bryan. I've heard about the colour thing. It's kind of strange. Like the other day in Speech class our teacher wrote cheque on the board. And we said what's that. And she said that's the English or British spelling of check. And so we were all like, then why the h*ll are you writing it like that.. This is America..lol
