I received the very sad news today that a dear friend to many DD fans has passed away... namely Ken Hallett from Canada. He had been battling diabetes and liver failure and went peacefully at the residence home he was living in. He adored Doris and was always willing to share his wonderful collection with anyone who showed interest. He welcomed me with open arms during my 2008 visit and we had such a great time looking through his wonderful collection. He visited Carmel a few times with some of the other DD fans and his greatest wish was to meet Doris but alas that was never to be. I'm sure some of you will remember him with much affection either personally or through his generosity. If the photo I have tried to upload is there - it is Ken on the right.
Thanks Brian.... I wasn't sure where to post it and I'm still trying to get my head around all the technical side to this business of posting photos and comments but I'm getting there...slowly but surely.
And now Jayne meadows has passed at 95. Posed with Doris, Mary Tyler Moore, Amanda Blake, Angie Dickinson for a fake fur ad in 1971. Steve Allen was her husband.
Yes, Jas. I think her name was Audrey Meadows. Both sisters had talent, but Audrey was probably more recognizable because of the success of the Jackie Gleason Show.
Didn't know the gentleman who passed away, but, if he was a devoted Day fan, then he was family.
