California fires

Unread post by webmaster »

How far away from Carmel are the current California fires? Anyone on the forum leaving near the outbreaks?

It looks and sounds very shocking.

Bryan, the fires in northern California (the town of Paradise) are probably six hours by car from Carmel.
You're right, it is shocking and devastating for residents.. more than 200 are missing, known dead approaching 30, and 90% of buildings are gone it's said. Here in the city we're having dark skies and very bad air due to the smoke and particulate matter

But despite what "he" says, it's NOT due to forest mismanagement (most of the forests around there are .. get ready.. federal property). "He" just likes to mouth off when it comes to California. All this only a year after the city of Santa Rosa also had deadly wind-whipped fire damage and death. In the past, the late-fall/winter rains would have started by now.

Southern Calif fires are several hundred miles away (Malibu), close to LA. Carmel would be extremely vulnerable if anything ever got started in the 'central' area.

Thank God DD is okay - but I agree Dave, it is a tragedy and the American people are being let down dramatically by the leadership - or lack thereof!

Dave, please know that all Californians are in Canadians' thoughts, prayers and care. Compassion is the hallmark of a sincere and genuinely caring heart. The devastation and lives lost is incomparable.

The news from this great tragedy is being followed from
all around the world. Beautiful California will get past this heartbreak with the support of the millions of
