Resurgence of Movie Musicals

Unread post by Johnny » 01 Aug 2019, 17:23

In recent years movie musicals have made a big and delightful comeback.

Last year Bohemian Rhapsody was a major success with Rami Malick winning an Academy Award for Best actor for his role as Freddie Mercury.

There was a fourth remake of A Star is Born starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga which was a major success.

This year Aladdin is a blockbuster at the box-office. It is a lush and bright film for kids and adults.

In autumn, the musical biography of Judy Garland called Judy will be released. It stars Rene Zellwegger as Judy.

Perhaps one day soon there will be a musical biography film honouring Doris Day. Her music catalog is a treasure chest of great sings.
