So happy to see all the Doris hat photos return.
The first photo of Doris in the broad brim hat is gorgeous.

This is another of my favourite Doris hat photos.

Hi all,

Thank you Jas & Johnny for your nice reply's!

I don't know if any of you are Doris Day poster collectors, but at the moment there are a lot of her filmposters for sale on EBAY. They are from Australia. I selected a few to display here.

I love the album cover photos too. So glamorous.

Peter,

Hi Michael,

I don't have any dates, but I think they are a little later around the 1964/1965 Glass Bottom Boat time.

Maybe someone else has a clue?

Thank you Peter for posting the Martin Oakes and Doris Day photo and Pete Alexis' article.

Martin Oakes meeting Doris Day at Quail Lodge, is a fascinating and entertaining story. It really illustrates Doris' authenticity and kindness. The easy conversation about her music and films is truly insightful as well as her thoughts on Stephen Sondheim's songs.

Doris unexpectedly spent two hours with Martin Oakes and his wife and gave them a beautiful life long memory.

Thanks again Peter for sharing this really enjoyable story.

Thank you, Peter. The article was a joy to read and only confirms what we fans already know. Doris is one heck of a gal - real as real can be! I recommend all Day fans to read this fascinating tale of Martin's Day to remember.

PS: I always wondered how Doris felt about Stephen Sondheim's great music. It was good to know that she appreciates his work.

Love the photo of her in the hat. I agree with Jas. She looks amazing.

This is a wonderful story. It reads like the fairy tale encounter we would all love to experience. He asked intelligent questions and demonstrated an impressive command of her work. It must be refreshing for someone like Doris to meet a fan who does more than gush and prattle on and on about loving everything she's done. I bet she realized immediately that he was someone substantial who could converse at her level. Very smart of him to tip the bartender too. Now, that is recognizing an opportunity!

Peter, this is another great find. Thank you so much for posting it here.
