Re: Rare Pictures
Do you know why you haven't seen any bad pictures of Do-Do??? Because there isn't any. Doris Day is the only person I know that looks good in every picture. Whether her tounge is out, she isn't smiling, or not even paying attention. She is still beautiful...

Re: Rare Pictures
Doris said her face changed [got slightly thinner in her 30s]. Although she always had an amazing figure, I think she was thinner from around 1953 onwards and just had the figure to die for!

Re: Rare Pictures
To die for is right! What a killer body. She kept it too. Even in her TV specials, you can see she is incredibally trim.
I think LMLM is partly due to how they filmed the movie.

Re: Rare Pictures
Doris did look a bit heavier in LMOLM -- but I would say voluptuous. It amazes me how at times, especially in her tv series, she looked incredibly thin, as in the time she was dancing with the Duke. In her 1975 TV special in one of the opening numbers dancing side by side with John Denver, Rich Little...she looked extremely svelt in the denim pantsuit. You could have bounced a quarter off of her stomach. She must have worked out constantly to stay in such great shape in her 50's.

I too think Doris was thinner in her TV Show years than in her movies, though she was quite thin in The Thrill of it All, but from the start of her show in 1968 to the 1975 special, she seemed much thinner. And seemed to lose weight over the course of that series. Not that she wasn't in great shape before. She was. But I remember commenting to myself how thin she was.

Re: Rare Pictures
That's the part when Doris gets off the ship to call her family right in the begining of the movie and I think it's the navy that helps her to a pay phone.

Re: Rare Pictures
Sorry but I need to cut in to say something... I LOVE Move Over Darling. Everytime we watch it me, my sisters, and my friends always sing along with Doris. And when I put someone to sleep, I always sing them Twinkle Lullaby..

I love that movie too Megan. That is a sweet song she sings to them and I bet your sisters love it when you sing to them.

Re: Rare Pictures
ya, my sister thought she broke her wrist yesterday. So, I put a washcloth over her head and sang her the song. And she fell asleep, and when she woke up she felt better!!!

Okay I just noticed you new revised avatar. Looks great!!
You are a good sister I'm sure of that. They are lucky to have you and you are probably their role model and of course Doris too.
Keep singing

Re: Rare Pictures
Yes very nice pictures of Doris and Barry. At least they had some happiness together, too bad it didn't last! Barry was said to have always regretted the divorce and couldn't get over Doris, Who could?
