Pam, great collection of photos. One thing about Doris's dog, Biggest, is that he almost looks human. I've never seen a dog like him in all of my years.

I love them all. Biggest is so adorable. A few years ago I had a copy of that picture and I had a good friend of mine do a oil painting of them 16x20 framed and sent it to her. She absolutely loved it. She does have it hanging up.

Thanks everyone! So happy you all enjoyed :D ! I'll keep my eyes open
for more Doris doggie photos.

Oh Carol, what a lovely and thoughtful gift you gave Doris! To have an oil portrait
painted of her, with her very favorite "Biggest" must have been such a thrill
for Doris...and to know that wonderful painting is hanging in Doris's home, must
absolutely be a thrill for you and your friend :D .

Laurie, you're absolutely right on the mark! I too, have never seen a dog like Biggest,
who appeared to look....and act.... almost humanImage! Biggest was such an adorable dog.

Thanks Pam for the kind words. Yes it is thrilling to know it is hanging in her house. The friend of mine that painted it has her own gallery here where I live and her daughter had gone to the school where I had worked . She did a beautiful job and was the best likenest I've ever seen and Doris did love it and wanted me to tell my friend what a beautiful job she did.

Nice photos pam, thanks so much for sharing. The photo of doris sitting on the couch with three little black poodles, is that the doggies that doris and marty had ? or is this taken after marty died ? It seems I have seen photos of doris and these little ones on her steps to her beach house ,when marty was still alive.
They were so darling, I love that picture of them. :)

Suzie,

That pic you refer to looks to be from around the Do Not Disturb time - I had never seen it before, great!

Suzie glad you enjoyed :D .....I'm not sure of the year of that photo, but I agree with Jas, in that it looks to be around 1965....a few years before Marty died.

Yes , I think you are both right. Did you notice the little dog doris is kissing, is a female ? See her little pink ribbons ? I adore that picture. They were so cute. I heard marty loved their dogs alot as well. What sweet babies. :D

Lovely pictures, indeed. Dogs are such great animals.

I find myself looking at dog pictures all the time. I've only had one dog in my life so far but I miss the woof woof in my life now that Sheila is gone. A couple of years ago I was told I should work at an animal shelter since I have such a love for animals.

I bet Doris is really happy with all those fluffy friends around.

Hi Gang~
With regards to the photo of Doris below with the lamp in the background and the charcoal dog on her lap - that isn't Doris' dog. That dog belongs to the people (In Carmel) in whose home Doris was at that day. A woman by the name of Kit Swanson sent me that photo back in the late 80s. She was there with Doris. If I can find that photo, I'll post it. So, just to let you know - that isn't Doris' home nor is it her doggie.

I love animals, especially dogs and cats. If I had more space and time, I'd certainly have a [rescue] dog!

All Doris' dogs were/ are beautiful, but Mr Biggest is my favourite. Judging too by the number of photo opportunities he was involved in, I'd guess Doris had a soft spot for him too.
