No, I don't have pictures of myself from the 1987 Doris Day Convention in Carmel. Sorry.
Lauren
I only asked because you refer to having your photo taken with her at that convention in your message of May 16th. Very sad if you no longer have it.... an irreplaceable memento indeed.
Alan~
Yes, I had my picture taken with Doris as did everyone else there. However, I cut myself out of the picture and used the picture of Doris as she held the flowers that I have her when I made a video (the 3 part video is still on YouTube) of the Convention of 1987 with Doris. I just wanted Doris on the intro picture.
I don't know what happened to the photo of me since I made the video in the early 2000s.
Doris and Rock were the presenters in the category of cinematography that year. I'm 99% sure that the winner standing between them in the photo above is Joseph Ruttenberg, whose Oscar was for "Gigi."
The photo above by Barbara is really fun and very pretty! The Getty pixs are fun, too. Who is the man that Doris has her arm around under the clock? Could that be her first husband at a point in time *before* he started to beat up on her?
Thanks, Mel. They might have been in New York in the photo, but I think by that time he was beating on her. So, who knows. Anyway, below (if I can upload it) is a photo of the apartment "complex" where Doris lived in 1940 in New York City. Doris gave the address and said that there was a theater across the street. So, using Google Earth (which I love), I was able to find the building. I haven't been able to get in closer, but it could be my desktop. Will try it some day on my laptop to see if I can get closer. The height of buildings were pretty low back in the '40s or '30s when those buildings were built.
It never ceases to amaze me how we can all look at the same picture and see something different. Case in point, the above picture of Doris with a man underneath a clock. I didn't think it was her first husband or that it was taken in New York. It looked to me like there was fog and I thought the clock was Big Ben in London. But I didn't think Doris had gone to London when she was as young as she appeared to be in the picture. I also thought the man was Marty. So, I'm curious about what you all think and why. I think Bryan can at least tell us whether or not the clock is Big Ben.

I don't think that is Marty at all. Doris looks very, very young in the photo. I just think it's a big city that they were in and I thought it might be New York because she and her first husband lived there for a year. Bryan's thought will be interesting to read about and anyone else also.
Could be Bob Crosby. She sang with his band a short while before going with Les Brown.
This picture was taken in 1940, kind of looks like the same hairstyle, she had in the above picture.
