Oh my gosh!!!! I don't know who he is nor the date. I was just *practicing* with those two photos earlier to see if I could get at least 2 photos on a page. Now I don't remember what I did. I think I went to Tinypic to get the other URL and it worked!!

Doris Day and Cary Grant with Baseball players to promote their film "That touch of Mink" in Los Angeles, California.

It's one of the people mentioned in the link! (Mickey-Mantle is on the left, I think, could be Roger-Maris?)

I believe the man on the right may be Leon Wagner, the (then) L.A. Angels' only black player in their starting lineup in 1962.

Bryan et al:

The guy on the far left is definetly Roger Maris.

Folks~
Don't know if you all have seen this photo/commercial before, but I thought I would upload it anyway for those who have not seen it. I don't have a date, but, from looks of hairdo, it looks to be 1960s.

Enjoy!

It's beatiful Lauren, thanks for sharing [and welcome back by the way]- I'd say the pic is from the 1970s? Any other thoughts? It is truly beautiful whichever decade it derives from.

For a short time in the mid-1970s, Doris was a spokeswoman for Studio Girl Cosmetics, a division of the Helene Curtis Co. Maybe this photo and sidebar are a promotional from that time.

It certainly is from Studio Girl Cosmetics.... I have another different brochure advertisement and I also have the very rare special recording of Doris promoting Studio Girl as she sits with other ladies chatting about the benefits of the product. I will try and upload a photo of the record cover.

Thanks, Jas. More are on the way. Good going, Alan! It's so nice to see you on the forum. I'm back after a year's vacation, so I'm still trying to get my forum legs back! I've got some really nice (at least I think so) photos that no one has seen coming up soon. Cannot have too many DD photos here with these wonderful fans.

Thank you Lauren. These photographs are beautiful. I love Doris's hair. The bob hairstyle was made for her. So classy. Tybear

Fan clubs

by Lauren Benjamin
I think that we went on and on about the British fan club and then Ray brought up things pertaining to the American fan club established in 1980. Then in 1987 there was a big party for Doris in Carmel by that fan club. And then Ray mentioned Don Chang, a favorite with Doris, etc, etc, etc. I think we were supposed to stick with Banners.

So, below I'll upload some photos that pertain to fans, fan clubs and Doris with fans.

14-Kiss for Don Chang.jpg
Above is Mr. Don Chang and Doris in 1987 in Carmel, CA, at a convention that the fan club, at that time, arranged for Doris and fans. Don was known to fans and to Doris for his writing about Doris and her animal foundation, which she appreciated very much. To show her appreciation, she planted a kiss right on his cheek at the meeting and a ya-hoo went up and applause because everyone understand about that kiss!
Don Chang was a wonderful man and died entirely too soon, as it was a loss to his family, friends and to Doris.

I forgot to mention that the tea service that Doris is holding is what the fans in Britain bought for Doris as a gift for her. I think it was very thoughtful and something that she could use.

Lauren,

I really love the photograph of Doris in the yellow blouse from The Doris Day Show. I think her hair looks great. Although I never really saw her with a bad hairstyle. We should all be so fortunate as to have beautiful hair like Doris.

Thank you for posting the pictures.

This photo was taken in 1973 when Doris went with friends to England again. Mary Anne would know much more this visit because I think she was working for Doris at that time. Doris met her fans in the hotel where she was staying. These are the only photos that I have of that visit with her fans and I've forgotten the name of the gentleman who is sitting next to Doris.
