Ania,

Thank you so much for these beautiful Doris photos.

The last two are new to me. Doris looks so natural with her head resting on her hand. I wonder what she is thinking.

Doris' great leading men Rock and Clark created magical chemistry and fun with her.

Thank you Peter for the Midnight Lace set photo. It is new to me. Visually, Midnight Lace is so beautiful and interesting.
I like the photo of Doris and Jack Carson. I just read Jack was born a Canadian.

Hi all,

Great photo Johnny! The Irene/Midnight Lace fashions are among the prettiest and glamourous Doris ever wore.

Peter, the 1941 photo of Doris with Jimmy Palmer is cute. Palmer sang with Les Brown and 3 or 4 other bands, then started his own band in 1945. Thirty years later his outfit was still playing, mostly in Chicago. He wrote a peppy song called "Dancin' Shoes" that was pretty popular.

Ania, these photo of Doris are simply elegant and charming.

Thank you for the beautiful Doris photos.
Peter, the Julie promo photo is new to me and really captures the spirit of the film. The pictures of Doris in a swim suit are great.

Hi all,

Ania: Love those pictures of Doris, they could be made today fashion wise I think!
Johnny: I like those swimsuit photo's too, there were a few different photo sessions in Doris early career (starting around 1947 to 1951?) And then there are the holiday/private photo's from different occasions.
Musiclover: Thanks for the Jimmy Palmer information, I haven't found more music of Doris and him together with Les Brown. Still searching...

Thanks Peter for all these beautiful Doris photos. The 1949 photo of Doris at the fence is really sweet.

I never tire os seeing the Midnight Lace photos. The expression in Rex Harrison's eyed is telling as he is holding a distressed wife(Doris).

Roddy MacDowall compiled dozens of his photographs of people from the entertainment industry into 4 books, the last of which was published in 1993 and was called "Take Four." I am a volunteer at a used book store and saw that volume yesterday. Among its 100 photos is just one of Doris, a close-up (taken of her left side!) on the set of "Midnight Lace." MacDowall asked Jimmy Stewart to provide comments about Doris, and this is what he wrote:

"I did one picture with Doris Day, "The Man Who Knew Too Much." We did it in Marrakesh, Morocco. Doris did a wonderful job throughout the picture and Alfred Hitchcock was very pleased with her work. They got along fine. Doris came into the picture with a song, "Que Sera, Sera." I don't think Hitchcock was very familiar with songs in his pictures and he wasn't sure of this one. As it turned out, the song was just as big a hit as the picture, maybe bigger. Doris was something very special and Hitchcock, and all of us, enjoyed doing the picture with her."
