Thanks for the treasures Peter - actually I was wondering where the 2016 photo folder was.

I love them all, but particularly the one on the set of the DD Show with Rose Marie- that is one sexy mama [Day] approaching 50 and socking it to them - in sexiness and style!

Hi again,

Thank you all for thanking me... but these photo's are all from the internet. I don't own them, I just try to get them together to share the great legacy of our Doris. She is such a versatile human being. A lot of people aren't aware of that I think. Sharing photo's and stories(not by me, my English isn't good enough)... Is for me a way to share her enormous talents. We all know that, but let's tell the world...

All the pictures of Doris are great but I totally agree that Doris' look in Midnight Lace showcased her true classic elegance and sophistication. All the Midnight Lace pictures are really beautiful.
I never tire of watching this film.

The photograph of the interior of the airport is probably the view of Birmingham Airport that Doris Day and Bob Hope probably saw when they arrived in Birmingham on April 22, 1949. Bob Hope was promoting his ‘Bob Hope Radio Show and Dors Day came with him. While in town, Doris Day attended the showing of her new Warner Brothers movie “My Dream is Yours” at the Alabama Theater. They also visited Vulcan while in Birmingham. (courtesy Birmingham Public Library)

Ania,

Terrific pictures of Doris and company. I especially like the backstage photo of Doris and Rod Taylor and also the great photo of Doris in the airport with Bob Hope. They are so interesting to look at and see the atmosphere of the times.

Thank you!

Hi Ania,

Liked your Bob Hope photo, I'm Always searching for The Bob Hope Show information, shows and photo's. It's great to hear Doris singing live and preforming with Irene Ryan and Bob on the show. She's so natural.

Love those Lucky Me pics, Peter.

It's still one of my favourite DD films - despite the fact she didn't want to do it, didn't like it, and it's not highly rated!

Hi Bryan & all,

I like Lucky Me too... It's funny and has the most stagenumbers in a Doris Day movie. I Always dream about Doris on a "Theater" stage... That must be explosive... and this film has some great stage moments. Storyline is a little thin, but some funny jokes.

From the opening:
Superstistion Song (dynamic opening, I could see that on a big stage)

Men

Parisian Pretties (the singing and dancing in this one is so dynamic, Doris twirls over the stage)

High Hopes

I Speak To The Stars

Love You Dearly

Bluebells Of Broadway

And the complete film is on dailymotion.com (there are more Doris films available)

Thank you Peter for all the Lucky Me photos and videos. They make forum members Lucky Us!

Lucky Me is a feel- good musical and is full of fun. I love Phil Silvers and Nancy Walker. Just listening to Doris sing makes Lucky Me an enjoyable musical.

The photo of Doris and Marty on their wedding day appears to show them shaking hands. Perhaps there is a photo of Doris and Marty sharing a kiss and embrace on their wedding day. I find it a curious photo and wonder if it was an omen for what was to come in this relationship. Doris looks beautiful and happy in the photo.
