Wonderful photos Peter.

I just love the charming and funny Please Don't Eat The Daisies photo.

The Look magazine photo and the Doris photo with Arthur Godfrey are new to me.

Thanks again.

Peter, these are fantastic Doris pictures.

I am surprised by the camera ad for Stereo Realist. I have not heard of this brand before. It looks like a very interesting camera. I would think $159.00 dollers in 1953 would be considered a lot of money for a camera.

The Please Don't Eat The Daisies is charming and new to me.

I love the photos from That Touch of Mink film set.

Thanks so much. These Doris photos are really special.

The "Touch of Mink" photos weren't taken on the film set. They were taken in New York City when Doris and Cary were making wardrobe decisions just prior to filming.
Like Irene Dunne done.

You're right about the $159 cost for a camera in 1953, Johnny. That would be equivalent to over $1400 today.

Love the pics, particularly the candid ones in NYC - [before Trump!!!] - with Doris wearing her Lover Come Back outfits [in private] - proof of the [fantastic] clause in her contract [certainly post-Pillow Talk] that she got to keep her screen clothes- these were Irene - which she particularly loved. In one of the books - Doris assistant [Brenda Flicker?] at this time- said after Touch of Mink that Doris dropped a heap of clothes into her lap and gave them to her - as she was "sick of them" - by the time Mink finished. What a treat for Brenda!

Thanks Ania for these terrific pictures of Doris. The time period looks like the 1940's or early 1950's.
I have never seen Doris with such a huge dog before.
Thanks again.

Seeing this photo with Steve Cochran reminded me that some time ago I came across this quote from him: "Doris knows the difference between being firm and being ruthless. She's firm, but she's still sweet. As a result, everyone respects her."

Doris laughed about that dress [the checked one] in the TCM Commentary done a couple of years ago - I am reading Ginger's book - and I really like her- although I can see she probably came across as a bit preaching over the years to others - but overall, I think she looked fabulous, was a great talent, and was a pro to the core - and not a diva!

Peter,

You are so talented in posting rare pictures of Doris. Thank you so much.

Doris looks like she is having a great time at the Paddock Club. I wonder what kind of cake is being served by the chef. This photo is new to me.

I have always loved seeing Doris in her elegant and beautiful Midnight Lace outfit. It is an iconic look.

More fab pics, thanks for sharing.

Love the pic above of Doris wearing the sailor's hat.

Love the cutting cake pic, and the Midnight Lace ones, especially that iconic [and my fav DD outfit of all time] - the black [elevator/lift outfit] from the film - all in black - spike heels - iconic dress /coat/bag - pure class.

I am so pleased that Doris had the chance to work with Myrna Loy. They both had similar comedy skill sets. Both Doris and Myna have an elegance and sophistication.

The Move Over Darling photo of Doris laughing is so natural and happy. Doris looks like she is radiating light in this photo. I think it would make a great banner.

Thanks so much Peter. What a great way to start April 2017!
