Doris looks stunning in the My Dream Is Yours photo. In the Young At Heart photo Doris looks like the girl next door.

I particularly like the wardrobe test photos because they have production dates and scene information.

I love the wardrobe tests too- it seems the ones with Doris survived more than with other stars- the gown from My Dream is Yours- would have fitted perfectly for any event in the 1980s or early 1990s too.

The 1958 Academy award photo is new to me. It looks like Doris is wearing the same dress in the 1960 Midnight Lace black and white photo. Really interesting, I don't recall seeing Doris wear this gown in Midnight Lace.

It's the same fabulous gown in both photos, but it's correct that she didn't wear it in "Midnight Lace" (unless it was in a scene that ended up on the cutting room floor).

Somewhere, can't recall where at the moment, I read that after a dip in her career, Doris was one of the people who helped Irene back on track.

Irene designed that dress in 1958 for Doris to wear to the Oscars - Doris wore it again in 1960 publicity stills for Midnight Lace [clothes again done by Irene] - she did not wear the dress in the film.

He was very handsome, and what a voice.
Many years ago, while eating at a neighborhood diner, I noticed him sitting across from me, and I couldn't resist going up to him. I told him how much I enjoyed his early films with Doris Day, and he thanked me. Didn't want to overstay my welcome, after all, he was having lunch. That was that, but it was a nice moment.

Thanks for the fantastic Doris photos on board the ship and in 1955 London. I wonder if she travelled by ship to England. She must have been begetting ready to film the Man Who Knew Too Much. These photos are new to me. I especially love the photo with the guys looking out the port hole at Doris.

Seeing Doris in photos in a fur coat is infrequent. I notice Doris wearing a simple gold bracelet that I have seen in dozens of photos over the years. I wonder what significance this bracelet has for her.

High heels on a wooden ship deck is something one wouldn't often see today!

Yes, Johnny, according to her memoir she did travel by ship for the filming of TMWKTM. Also, I seem to recall that Jackie Joseph mentioned that Doris auctioned off all her fur coats at an early Actors & Others for Animals fund-raiser.
