Thanks Peter for the Doris Miss Magic of 1948 photo. It is another new photo that I have not seen before. I love the expression on Doris' face. It is a great picture.

I wonder if there was a tie-in with Doris' It's Magic song she sang in Romance On The High Seas

Doris' natural beauty glows in the 1975 photo.

Thanks again Peter for another surprising photo of Doris moving. Would this photo be from around 1956 when she moved to North Crescent Drive? I have not seen it before.

Photos from the charming and underappreciated It Happened To Jane are always enjoyable to see.

Great pictures Peter.
I wonder if the moving day pic isn't when she was leaving Warner's after Lucky Me. Looks like the white piano form Lucky Me and maybe part of her costume on the right. She'd had her hair cut and was ready for Young At Heart. Just a thought. Always appreciate your rare photos.
Thanks,
Jill

Jill,

the "moving" pic is not from 1954 - the hair [although the short cut] is later - around 1956-57 - so could well be the actual move to Crescent drive.

Hi Johnny, Jill & Jas,

Thanks for responding all. The photo is probably, as Jas stated, Doris and Marty's move to Cresent Drive.

Looking at these wonderful 1949 photos of Doris reminds us how much she has seen in her travels around America. This experience made her fearful to travel by plane. She declined several roles that required her to travel by plane. It is ironic that Doris was one of the first women to pilot a plane on film in Julie.

Thanks Peter!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks so much Peter for all these wonderful and many new to me Doris Day photos.

The 1962 Leo Fuchs photo is beautifully mesmerizing. I love the photo of Doris with Gus Khan's family.

The backstage Lucky Me photo with Bob Cummings is interesting as is The Pillow Talk promo kit.

Anytime I see a photo from Move Over Darling, it makes me smile

The photo of Doris in the pool is really special, Doris looks so natural and beautiful.

Thank you again Peter for letting me know about the Doris Day TV episode in season 1.

I must visit this section of the board more often. So many beautiful and rare photos to admire.

Ditto, Johnny, re the Leo Fuchs photo from 1962. That is sublime. One of my all-time favorites. That shot makes me immediately think of the song Lazy Afternoon by Jerome Moross and John La Touche. It expresses the quiet joy of spending a lazy afternoon by letting your mind go where it wants to go. This song would have been a natural for Doris because it is so intimate and the lyrics speak to one person.

Thank you Peter for finding all these wonderful treasures. You rock the casbah.

Really love the 1949 photo of the My Dream Is Yours 1949 photo of Doris in front of the flowers.

The 1952 photo of Doris in the recording studio is another knockout. Both photos are new to me.

The Pillow Talk photo of Doris and Rock is really interesting. Doris is wearing the costume she wore in the opening scene of the film. I don't recall Rock in a scene with Doris while she wore this costume. She wore pajamas at the end of Pillow Talk when Rock carried her along the streets of New York.

Thanks so much Peter for such beautiful Doris photos. You are the great Doris Day Forum Photo Research Department leader.
