Peter, Johnny is right -- you're really a wizard at discovering rare photos of Doris! (I think the one immediately above is from "With Six You Get Eggroll," as that looks like Jamie Farr on the right.)

The on- set That Touch of Mink Doris photos are great. I like seeing all the people in the background observing Doris a she models the clothes with great flair.

Thank you Peter!

Hi Judy & Johnny,

Thanks for pointing me to the correct title of Where Were You When The Lights Went Out? (I was a little in a hurry…) And thanks for the name of Jamie Farr, couldn't find his name today, and I had it found before. So I changed it with your help. Thank you both!!!

Beautiful Doris photos in this group. Whether the photos are in black and white or colour, Doris always looks radiant. I love Doris in white.

Thank you Peter.

Hi Peter,
Have never seen the first two photos. It's amazing how they can act with all of the chaos surrounding them.
Thanks for posting.

I think the one of Doris in the floral hat is on the set of “Where Were You When the Lights Went Out”. I checked today and the background looks so similar.

Thanks Ania for these gorgeous photos of Doris.

It is surprising to see in the photo that Mamie Van Doren is so much taller that Doris.

The photo of Doris is beautiful.

Hi Johnny,

I googled both ladies length and Mamie length was 5ft 4 in (1,63 meter) and Doris length was 5 ft 6,5 in (1,70 meter).

Mamie must have been wearing extra high heels. I have always thought of Doris being around 5 foot seven inches.

I love all three of these photos you posted. The Pillow Talk photo of Doris and Rock is iconic. Everyone talked about this famous bathtub(s) scene. It was shocking in the conservative 1950's.

Doris looks so sophisticated in this Move over Darling photo.

The Glass Bottom Boat photo scene shows how brilliant and gifted Doris and Dom DeLuise were at slapstick comedy.

Thank you Peter!

H Johnny,

Thanks again for your reply. Doris height could be wrong on internet, I'm not sure. Maybe she mentions it in "Her Own Story" by Hotchner. I have to look it up.

Thanks, Peter, for these rare candid photos. In the one where she's disembarking from the train, what do you think Doris is carrying in her left hand?

These wonderful Doris photos are a great start for May 2019. The rare photo of Doris in the record library makes me wonder what album she is holding. I am assuming it is the Columbia Record Library. I wonder if Warner Bros. had a library.
Doris had a What should I do? expression a she holds her finger to her mouth. It is an unusual look for her.

In the Calamity Jane photo, on first look I though; How can Howard Keel be that much taller than Doris? I then saw, he was standing on the stairs. I love the indifferent look on Howard's face as he looks at Doris.

In the Tunnel of Love photo, they all look like they are having a genuinely good time. Doris is leaning forward as she laughs.

I really like this Pillow Talk photo as Doris is getting off the train. She looks like she is carrying long stemmed roses in her left hand. There weren't any assistants present to help her carry her things. Who are the actors today that carry their own items? It is a very different time.

I love the quiet pleasant expression on Doris' face. She is classic elegance form head to toe.

As always Peter, thank you so much.

Hi all,

Thank you for replying Judy & Johnny, I think it's the Columbia Record Library, you can see the name of Shostakovich, he was on Columbia Records too.

The beautiful Touch of Mink Doris photo looks very natural, she doesn't look like she is not wearing makeup. Doris has a quiet and thoughtful expression on her face.

The Doris Day Show photo is lovely. I like the sky background and Doris' red gingham top makes this photo pop.

Thank you Peter
