Thank you Peter for these beautiful Doris photo. The photo of Doris and Rock is particularly emotionally touching. I think it is one of the last pictures taken of Doris and Rock together.

Thanks to everyone for posting all of these great photos - The one of Doris and Rock is especially heartbreaking. I feel like she must have know that it was more than the flu. She put on a good face for Rock.
I really hope that she is still doing well.
Cheers,
Jill

Thanks Howard for these really great Doris photos.

The photo with Johnny Rae must have been around the time Doris and Johnny recorded Ma Says, Pa Says as well as Candy Lips. They also recorded Let's Walk That-a-Way.

I agree with Jill that the photo of Rock with Doris is heartbreaking. How I wish they had been able to find another film to star in together at some point. Doris looks so healthy and vibrant next to the frail Rock. It speaks volumes about his love for Doris and his character that he insisted on going to Carmel in spite of strong opposition from his close friends. Mark Griffin's new book on Rock spells all of that out. He also says that Doris was invited to Rock's memorial service but she called Mark Miller on the morning of the service in tears, saying she could not get through the service. So she did not attend, as we all know. I think Doris wanted to remember him as he was and hold on to the memories of happier times with her buddy.
