This is the movie that made me a life-time Doris fan. My aunt took me to see Lullaby Of Broadway at young age and I was hooked. Doris' singing and dancing were tops.Great cast! This is at the top of my list.

Whilst the songs etc are great in this film I cannot get around the fact this is definately my least favourite D Day look - awful hairstyle, awkward clothes etc - I guess that is what puts me off the film more than anything.
I really like this movie. Doris had great songs and did a fantastic job singing them. And of course we get to see her dance. What more can you ask for ?

This isn't one of my favorites but I love the dancing. I do find it odd though that the dress that Jessica Howard is wearing when Melinda sees her in the club is very similar to the dress Doris wore in Romance on the High Seas during the first night on the ship.
I just saw this movie.. and loved it.. I thought Doris was cute.. and acted very well, as always.. I love the songs.. and Doris' dancing was.. absolutely wonderful!!!

I love this movie,can our girl dance or what ???? Doris once said she never worked harder at anything in her life, as much as she did to learn her dance numbers. To show you how good she is at dancing, it looked effortless, just smooth and lovely.
I bet she can still dance great.
I'm lukewarm on the film but absolutely in awe of her singing and dancing here. That finale with Doris in the gold lame evening gown where she sings and dances up and down the stairway is jaw-dropping. She may have never worked harder on anything in her life, but as she always does, she made it look effortless.
I loved this movie. Her singing and dancing is wonderful. I agree the gold gown and dancing up those stairs was magnificent. She does everything so perfect. What a gal.

Doris' acting, singing and dancing was just grand. As you said before, the dancing seemed so effortless - Wow... Makes one think what she could have achieved as a dancer with every day-practice...
But the story-line I thought was sooo weak? If she believes the house belongs to her mother
- why does she live in the servant quarter?
- why mustn't she be seen by Mrs. Hubber?
- who is Mr. Hubber anyway?
- why doesn't she travel where her mother is playing at the moment?
Kind of a weak plot for me, but overall good thanks to Doris.
This film is fun to some extent and of course Doris does a great job singing and dancing. For me however, I just don't care for Doris' look around this time - the clothes, hair etc and to some extent, that colours how I see this film!
Had to think about it a bit ... but it good a "good" from me too .. I actually think its BETWEEN good and avarage ... cause just like Marion I thought there isn't much plot and I didn't get alot. But GRAND dancind and I'm mad about the title song - *love* it
Marion - Doris wears 'pants' in a lot of films - I guess the designers had the good sense to show off her amazing figure - a few examples:-
Romance on High Seas [brown trousers/ brown and beige top];
Calamity Jane [buckskins];
Young At Heart [albeit pedal pushers];
Pajama Game [albeit Pedal Pushers];
Tunnel of Love;
Midnight Lace [albeit night wear];
Please don't eat the daisies [a lot of the time & looking fab];
Lover Come Back [briefly on the boat with Rock];
Send me No Flowers [Rock's dream sequence];
Thrill of It All [around the home];
Glass Bottom Boat [as stated];
Do not disturb [white]/ with blue shirt;
Ballad of Josie [jeans];
My cousin bought this wonderful movie for me ... I love this movie, it is so cute and Doris sure can dance. These movies from the Warners studios had their own brand of sweetness that I love .
