Edie Adams has passed on...

Unread post by John M »

Edie Adams has died of cancer and pneumonia at 81. Not only was she a dear friend of Doris, but SUCH a talented lady. She could do comedy (Rebel Davis in Lover Come Back), drama (Miss Olsen, the vindictive secretary in The Apartment) and she could sing like an angel, like here in this video from the final episode of "I Love Lucy (The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour)."

I met Edie about a year and a half ago, and she was so sweet...

This is a BEAUTIFUL rendition of this great song. (It makes me yearn to hear what Doris would have done with it too.

"I wouldn't bring up Paris if I were you. It's poor salesmanship."

I'm sorry to hear about Edie's passing --She was a very talented lady. That's All is one of my favorite songs. I'd love to hear a Doris rendition and wish she had recorded it in one of her albums.--Thanks John.

That's very sad. :-(

The song is wonderful, I didn't know it before. I am sure Doris would have made a wonderful job with it...

This was bad news had seen a couple recent photos of her and she looked quite ill/frail. I am sure that she is delighted to be reunited with her soulmate Ernie Kovacs.

I watched "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" in Edie's memory last weekend. She was really a beautiful woman. Her ability to sing, act, dance and perservere through a life that was not always wonderful reminds me of our own Ms. Day.
