This is very sad, I especially liked Tennesee Waltz. Patti paid great compliments about Doris's singing and acting, as did Rosemary Clooney. I thought it was nice that Doris paid homage to Patti in the song "Disney Girls" from Doris's latest cd.

Agree, very sad indeed. She was a terrific singer with an impressive list of hits. "Old Cape Cod" is probably my favorite.

"Old Cape Cod" is a great song. It's also my favorite Page hit. She's had so many, and I always liked her. May she rest in peace!
Like Irene Dunne done.

I am very saddened to hear this- I loved Patti Paige - and Old Cape Cod was also my favourite.

She continued to look great and sound great well into her 70s /80s - on Youtube there is a great extract from a concern of her's where she ends it singing the signature tune from her TV show "this is my song"- she sings it to her 5 or so grand daughters on stage with her and it is incredibly touching.

Really enjoyed her music. Grew up with 'How much is that doggie in the window'. Used to sing it with my mother. It's such a sweet little song. Think I can recall it being used for the Guide Dog foundation ad in the early 2000's. Remember mum buying me some guide dog pins and the money going to the Blind Foundation. Bet Doris supports this foundation since the money goes towards training the dogs as puppies to help the blind :)

Patty Andrews Passes Away

Unread post by Toby_Martin »

http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/ent ... y.Andrews/

Just read where Patty Andrews passed away today. As most of us know from Doris's biography, Martin Melcher was first married to Patty Andrews before they divorced and he married Doris Day. Doris wrote about that divorce and Patty in her book Doris Day: Her Own Story by A.E. Hotchner.
