I've been asked the following question:
"I was hoping to find out if Doris Day ever did the song "Beautiful Dreamer"? I heard the song playing at the supermarket and I thought it was her voice, if it was I would really love to get a copy of it."
It's not listed here (search result): http://www.dorisday.net/recordings.html
Anyone know for sure?

Re: Has Doris recorded "Beautiful Dreamer"?
I guess that's a 'no' then - I don't think she did, I certainly can't remember it.

Re: Has Doris recorded "Beautiful Dreamer"?
Hi Bryan,
If Doris did recorded this song at Columbia, I think it would be mentioned on the Bear Family Set's, but it isn't. There are four or five song registered as lost. "Beautiful Dreamer" isn't one of them.

Thanks, Peter,
Just out of interest, do you know what the lost songs are (I didn't know there were any)?

Thanks Peter,
Obviously these are particular recordings on those dates as we've heard "He's So Married" / "Send Me No Flowers", etc.

Yes but I really love to hear alternative recordings. Would love to hear the complete other version of Send me No Flowers that was written. Wonder if Doris recorded that?

"Wait Till You See My Baby" was written (and recorded) by Neil Sedaka. Would have loved to hear Doris sing it, but unfortunately, it's been listed as "lost." Here's the song by Sedaka:

Like Irene Dunne done.
Re: Has Doris recorded "Beautiful Dreamer"?
Hi Peter,
how many versions of Never look back exist? Is it one
date 04-12-1954 and
date 03-05-1954 or more.
What date is Never look back (alt) with small music section.
And what does it mean (m) and (s) at the songs on your list.
Thank you,
Nada

I give up Bryan, which film was it?

Re: Has Doris recorded "Beautiful Dreamer"?
"Beautiful Dreamer" – Music and lyrics by Stephen Foster. Played as background music during the memorial service for Ellen in "Move Over Darling" (soundtrack)

Re: Has Doris recorded "Beautiful Dreamer"?
Very interesting, I didn't pay atention on other music in DDs pictures, now I watched Move over, darling once again and listened to the part you mentioned more carefully. And I recorded this part for you. It's a shame, DD didn't recorded this song, there are many other singers who did. On youtube you can listen many versions, it says the composer is great Felix Mendelsson.
