Beautiful Peter, thanks for sharing, I love that song and it is great to hear Doris with Les' Orchestra doing a lovely version of it.

Great find, Peter. Doris performed this song as part of an Armed Forces Radio Service program in October of 1944 at Bowman Army Airfield in Kentucky.

Hi Musiclover, on a recent post you stated that Doris Day sang "I Didn't Know About You" on a AFRS program from Bowman Field, Kentucky in October 1944. Before I make a correction to The Doris Day Definitive Discography, I want to verify your information. The only song I had noted during the 7 October 1944 Bowman Field session was "It Had To Be You." Please advise if I should make a correction to the discography.

Hi, Texas -
Yes, I think an addition to the AFRS program at Bowman Field would be good. It might have been on oldtimeradiodownloads.com that I recently listened to a broadcast of the Oct. 7, 1944 performance where Doris sang "I Didn't Know About You." Besides that song, the broadcast included an instrumental and a male vocal. Thanks for all your good work in assembling such a comprehensive discography.

Hi Musiclover, thanks for your information. The song "I Didn't Know About You" is now part of the discography.
Also thank you for your comment about the discography. I had always wanted to assemble The Doris Day Definitive Discography since none existed to acknowledge the great contributions Doris Day made to our music heritage. It is a pure labor of love dedicated to a great lady.
