Top 3 of Doris' Leading Men -Least Charasmatic

Unread post by Johnny » 30 Aug 2018, 11:43

Thinking about the DD Forum discussion on Rex Harrison, I thought it may be interesting to take a poll on Doris' leading men that were lacking in screen chemistry and charisma with Doris. I would like to say Doris has always had more charisma than anyone she worked with.

The nominees:

(Please add anyone else to the list)

Kirk Douglas
Ray Bolger
Robert Cummings
Lee Bowman
Ronald Reagan
Cameron Mitchell
Rex Harrison
Richard Harris
Patrick O'Neal

My Top 3 Choices:

Ray Bolger
Kirk Douglas
Robert Cummings

Johnny, you are so good at coming up with original topics.

My Top Three Least charismatic:

Ray Bolger
Richard Harris
Cary Grant

I'd say the runners-up are Lee Bowman, Robert Cummings, Cameron Mitchell, Rex Harrison and Richard Widmark.

She and Patrick O'Neal were meh in WWYWTLWO but they sizzled in Season Five of the Doris Day Show.

Ray Bolger- hands down;

Rex Harrison; and,

Richard Widmark, or, Patrick O'Neill - which just goes to show what I know!

I think Bolger and Widmark for sure, followed by probably Richard Harris.
