Thanks so much Ania for all these great Doris photos, some I have not seen before. I really love the first photo of Doris laid back in the chair.

Ania,
Love all of the pics. I wonder if Doris had as much fun with Frank as Dinah Shore did. They seemed to have a great chemistry.
Thanks for posting,
Jill

Hi Ania,
Great pictures again, thank you a lot for sharing them. Came across the first photo. Already had the second one. Still no clue about the announcer and the program.

Re: 2019 Doris Day pictures
Peter, these photos from an AFRS broadcast are great. I'm pretty sure that's Hy Averback on the right. He was the announcer for Armed Forces Radio Service, as well as for Bob Hope's program and several others during and after WWII. He was also a comedy writer and a director of many episodes of various TV shows (including M*A*S*H*). Doris worked with Averback in radio, and later when he directed Where Were You When the Lights Went Out.
Re: 2019 Doris Day pictures
Thank you Peter for these interesting photos. I am wondering if the pin on the Doris' collar is an Air Force pin.
Thanks Musiclover for the information on Hy Averback.

Hi Judy and Johnny,
Thank you for your reply's... But it's not Hy Averback. It was my first thought too, but I have search around in my Bob Hope Show photo's and the photo below shows Hy. Judy also thanks for the short bio of Hy. At this moment there aren't a lot photo's of him around on the internet, but a few.

So the search continues,
P

Thanks Peter for this photo of Doris and Suzy Rapp. I wonder if she had anything to say about meeting Doris.

It's been several weeks since I visited the Photos section.
So many never seen before photos from Peter to savor! I don't think I can adequately express how much I appreciate your generosity by sharing them with us. Nor can I fathom how much time and effort it must take to locate them. Your contributions to the forum are immense. I hope you know how much we appreciate you.
Thank you, Peter!

Re: 2019 Doris Day pictures
Hi Peter,
The Last Tango In Paris of Doris and Billy are new to me. I do recalling in Doris' book that Doris said Marlon should never have made the picture. Doris and Billy felt very embarrassed watching this film.
The Last Tango In Paris was released in December 1972. Billy died in March 1974.
I believe the photo of Doris in front of the microphones was taken after the successful lawsuit ruling against lawyer Jerry Rosenthal in her favour in October 1974. She was awarded $22.000.000.

Peter,
Thank you very much for the rare red carpet photos from the Last Tango In Paris premiere. They are new to me.
Regardless of what one thinks about the film or Brando, it's remarkable that Doris attended this event. She really opened up after Marty died and her TV series wrapped. She never seemed quite so womanly or sensual as she did in the mid seventies.
Bravo, Peter!
